The Saturday 1XI ethos is built around preparation, camaraderie and above all else, enjoyment.  The 2026 Season sees Bear Flat 1XI playing in Division 4 of the Somerset Cricket league, after gaining promotion in its first year after returning to Somerset after several years in the Wiltshire League, where in 2017 The Bears won division 1.  As the old guard retired, new younger players are stepping up to pick up the mantle with high hopes of promotion again this season.

Recruitment is at the top of the club’s agenda so that we can continue to be a powerful force in local and regional cricket.

We look forward to seeing everybody this season, existing players, new recruits and opposition alike – The Glasshouse beckons!  

The Saturday 2XI play at Peasedown St John Cricket Club, and we are playing in the Somerset Cricket League, Division 6 Blue after becoming league Champions in 2025.  A second Saturday side ensures everyone who wants to play competitive cricket will get a game, and keeps the 1XI on their toes – you never know who will be hot on the heels of a first team place!

Womens Softball
Womens softball training is on Friday nights at the Glasshouse, Bradford Road, Combe Down, Bath, from 19:00 to 20:15.  The womens softball team participate in friendly fixtures and cricket festivals.

The Club runs a youth team of under 11’s and under 13’s this season (“The Bear Cubs”).
